About the role
Jockey is seeking a Raw Materials Coordinator to join their Product Development team. This role supports the research, development, approval, and marketing of materials and colors, ensuring they meet performance requirements, market needs, and cost goals.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, monitor, and ensure valid cost/performance-correct raw material development through collaboration with design/product development/sourcing/Hong Kong materials teams, external mills/factories, and while adhering to sustainable material criteria.
- Support Material Development of key categories, showcasing new and exciting material and technology platforms, and advocating for sustainability, innovation, and creativity in proactive product development and consumer-centric material solutions.
- Maintain seasonal development reference binders with complete fabric information for internal reference and meeting preparation.
- Facilitate timely testing of raw materials via third-party labs, working with the Materials team to certify that all material quality requirements are met.
- Confirm the availability of materials and assist in tracking all material sample requests for development and meetings.
- Affirm material lab dip approval process, including reviewing and commenting on submits, professionally communicating with mills/factories, maintaining up-to-date status in PLM.
- Organize color standards and color submits in color lab.
- Support sustainability initiatives through research and knowledge sharing, staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Assist in research of material trends and new innovations to identify business opportunities and needs.
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting the evolving needs of the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Apparel, or related field preferred.
- PLM knowledge a plus.
