About the Team
The Structured Finance and Alternative Investment Funds team at S&P Global Ratings evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures, analyzing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash-flow mechanics, and stress scenarios. The team delivers credit opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, providing market-relevant perspectives on performance trends and issuance conditions across a growing and evolving sector.
Responsibilities
- Team Contribution & Capability Building
- Build credit judgment through coaching, feedback, and standard methodologies to strengthen analytical quality and trust.
- Contribute to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and automation that support judgment, reduce rework, and accelerate delivery.
- Support the onboarding and development of junior colleagues through guidance on analytical routines, quality standards, and the effective use of approved tools.
- Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and support innovation by challenging existing processes and applying fresh perspectives to complex data and problem-solving.
- Core Analytical & Delivery
- Own delivery for assigned credits, maintaining clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks to ensure timely, decision-ready outputs.
- Maintain ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, synthesizing developments into insights that support analytical discussions and rating committee materials.
- Build and maintain analytical materials using standard templates, applying automation to reduce rework while retaining human ownership of conclusions.
- Use approved generative AI and large language model tools to support research, comparison, and drafting tasks.
- Collect, reconcile, and validate data, identifying anomalies and gaps early; document assumptions and standardize routines to reduce operational risk.
- Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Support rating committees by preparing well-evidenced materials and responding to follow-up questions with clear transparency on sources and assumptions.
- Translate data, analysis, and research into clear, decision-ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders, adapting technical content to suit the audience.
- Risk Management and Operating
- Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently, ensuring human accountability for all final analysis and committee content.
- Support the testing of automation and AI tools identified through process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Basic Required Qualifications
- Direct experience analyzing securitized products, fund structures, or related structured finance instruments.

- Strong research and data analysis skills, including financial statement competence and a solid understanding of credit and risk concepts.

- Strong spreadsheet skills and a willingness to develop proficiency in data and automation tools, including the ability to supervise and validate automated outputs.
- Experience supporting financial modeling preferred.

Qualifications
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in structured finance, credit analysis, or a related financial field.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued.

Schedule
Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
Pay
US Candidates: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $89,000 USD. Final base salary will be based on the individual's geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
Canadian Candidates: The anticipated range of compensation for this position is CAD $62,000 to $101,000. Final compensation will be based on the individual's performance, geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
