Job Summary

The Range Guide is the ultimate go‑between for customers who come to shoot, buy products, or join training. You’ll handle customer transactions, perform range safety officer duties, and assist with special events and leagues. The goal is to create an exceptional experience that keeps customers returning and recommending Shoot Smart to friends and family.

Key Duties

• Learn and proficiently operate the point‑of‑sale system while demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
• Directly sell lane rental, firearm rental, shooting accessories, and retail items.
• Guide customers through the Shoot Smart experience, ensuring a safe, fun time.
• Maintain range safety and ensure compliance with all policies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the range by completing all tasks assigned by supervisors in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Experience in retail sales or customer service preferred.
• Firearms proficiency and basic knowledge a plus.
• Ability to obtain NRA Range Safety Officer certification, NRA Pistol Trainer certifications, and Red Cross First Aid certification (Shoot Smart will assist with necessary certifications).
• Excellent customer service skills and strong persuasion abilities.
• Proven ability to operate a cash register.
• Experience or training in the safe operation, storage, and troubleshooting of firearms.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to lift 25 lb or more and stand for long durations.

Schedule

• Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hours: Full‑time commitment of at least 32 hours per week, which includes weekends and certain holidays. The store is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
