About the role

Ramp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft and carts
• Stack and unstack baggage in aircraft
• Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment
• Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
• Read and interpret load sheets and checked baggage tags
• Escort passengers and special-needs customers safely and courteously
• Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Obtain and maintain position-specific clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, etc.)
• Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Lift heavy bags over 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work outside in all weather conditions
• Attend four days of Basic Station Training
• Flexible schedule, including split shifts during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
