Ramp Agent - Honolulu - Full Time
About the role
The Ramp Agent is responsible for loading and offloading baggage, ensuring guest safety and well-being, and performing various duties related to aircraft operations. This is a union-represented position.
Responsibilities
- Loading, stowing, and unloading baggage and cargo in accordance with flight plans.
- Pick-up and delivery of all cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight, and company materials.
- Preparation, reporting, and accounting of necessary documents.
- Cleaning of aircraft baggage pits and immediate work areas.
- Operation of automotive equipment as needed.
- Insert and remove chocks and safety lines.
- When mechanical personnel are unavailable, may receive and dispatch aircraft.
- May also perform duties of cleaners, including limited office cleaning and aircraft cleaning.
Requirements
- Willing and able to work outside in the elements.
- Able to lift 70 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
- Able to work in confined spaces on knees/elbows, lifting baggage overhead frequently (weighing 70+ lbs.), operating heavy machinery near the aircraft, driving tugs, and more.
- Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, US territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
- Able to obtain airport security clearance.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Previous airport ramp experience.
- Physical labor experience and/or working in a warehouse environment.

Starting Rate
USD $16.24/Hr.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing to keep their SIDA badge. Review the SIDA Badge Requirements document for a comprehensive overview. Failure to qualify for a SIDA badge or having one pulled will result in termination.
