Responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas.
• Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to/from aircraft.
• Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in areas congested with aircraft, moving and stationary vehicles, and equipment.
• Position vehicles near aircraft, requiring depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors (red, green, and yellow).
• Engage in push-out of aircraft by driving an 80,000 lb. vehicle or assist by providing guide functions to the driver using depth perception in congested areas or speaking to the cockpit during push-back procedures.
• Transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle, navigating through congested areas with attached carts.
• Read "off-load" sheets to determine the destination of cargo.
• Perform proper ground-to-cockpit communication during aircraft push-out and/or towing functions.
• Pull water hoses from stationary cabinets and connect them to aircraft.
• Lift, connect, and remove overhead 40 lb. KVA electric cables to/from aircraft.
• De-ice aircraft at heights of up to 20–80 ft., lifting and holding nozzles to spray the exterior of wings and fuselage with glycol.
• Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpits and lavatories; drain lavatories; handle, assemble, remove, and install passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies.
• Transport furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and racking both filled and empty drums.
• Clear aircraft windshields, connect/remove ground power and ground start units.
• Clean the exterior of aircraft with specialized cleaning fluids.
• Perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment.
• Assist in monitoring the security of the facility.
• Perform routine automotive repair, servicing, and cleaning of powered and unpowered equipment.
• Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.
• Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.
• Perform all functions in variable weather conditions and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to successfully communicate with others.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Ability to work in a high-noise-level environment.
• Pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt.
