Responsibilities
- Safely boarding customers and luggage onto aircraft and monitoring movements of planes while on the ground
- Communicating with pilots, operations, and ticket agents in a clear and concise manner
- Communicating with TSA and local law enforcement concerning the security of flights and passengers
- Loading and offloading passengers in a safe and courteous way
- Accurately and clearly marshalling aircraft with good hand signals
- Knowing emergency procedures and handling of hazardous materials
- Accurately communicating via radio to all pilots, operations, and fellow employees
- Knowing SIDA areas and being able to challenge unknown persons
- Knowing firearm procedures
- Maintaining customer relations
- Safe operation of ground equipment
- Accurate addition of baggage weight
- Driving the passenger shuttle bus, if applicable to station
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Airline work experience preferred
- Airline reservation system experience preferred
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- If location requires driving, applicant must hold and maintain a driver’s license valid in that location
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs
- Basic computer skills required
- Excellent communication and excellent customer service skills required
- Able to interact effectively with others
- Able to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities
- Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Flexibility of schedule is a must
