About the Role
The Project & Construction Manager, North America will manage the full project lifecycle for new store openings and renovations—from initial concept through turnover—ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, consultants, and suppliers. You will be accountable for driving processes, managing budgets and schedules, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple store construction and renovation projects simultaneously from initial concept through turnover.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and local building regulations, permits, and approval processes.
- Oversee project close-out, punch lists, and documentation to ensure smooth handovers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, budget, risks, and milestones.
- Partner cross-functionally with Real Estate, Legal, Business, Architecture, and Design teams to align objectives and resolve challenges.
- Develop, track, and manage budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets while maintaining quality.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, proactively identifying risks and adjusting timelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Anticipate and mitigate project risks, resolving issues quickly to minimize impact on cost and schedule.
- Deliver accurate and timely project reporting to key stakeholders, including executive summaries, dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Manage external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to deliver high-quality results.
- Monitor performance of each project to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and adherence to RL brand standards.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in luxury retail construction or high-end commercial projects.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in project management software; Smartsheet experience preferred.
- PMP or similar professional certification a plus.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of local building regulations, permitting processes, and contract negotiations.
