About the role

The Assistant Buyer, Home supports the Buying Managers across all Home categories. This role is responsible for purchase order execution, product data accuracy, vendor coordination, reporting, & data analysis. The Assistant Buying role supports the development and execution of seasonal assortments across Home categories, partnering cross-functionally to drive sales, optimize inventory, and uphold the brand's elevated aesthetic across all channels. This role is responsible for managing product lifecycle process, ensuring operational excellence and a seamless customer experience both in-store and online.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of seasonal assortments and investment strategies across Home categories
  • Assist in buying, order management, and performance tracking
  • Maintain product data integrity within internal systems, ensuring SKUs are correctly attributed and aligned to collections
  • Manage digital assortment to ensure product is accurately represented and optimized for conversion
  • Partner with Merchandising Operations and Brand Image teams to ensure timely product setup, photography, and launch readiness
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing to align product availability with campaign timing, ensuring adequate inventory for key initiatives
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate merchandising execution, inventory needs, and customer experience
  • Support floor sets and room change from planning through installation, including system entry and coordination with stores

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or product coordination preferred
  • Experience in home, furnishings, or luxury retail strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, and reliable reporting and data management
  • Advanced Excel and retail math skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and urgent follow-ups
  • Clear written and verbal communication with vendors and partners
  • Collaborative, organized, and solutions-oriented
  • Basic understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Systems and tools: GFE+, Island Pacific, Microstrategy, SAP, Product Data Hub
