Railyard Workers - $23+/hour

About the role

This hands‑on laborer position supports a rail yard crew with physically demanding tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, handling materials, using hand tools, and general site upkeep. While occasional operation of heavy equipment may be required, the primary focus is manual labor. Prior experience in rail or aggregate environments is a plus but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Unload product from railcars at various company facilities.
• Assist the plant foreperson with daily operations and plant upkeep.
• Perform general labor duties, including shoveling and equipment maintenance.
• Assist foreperson and crew members as needed.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties when required.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as a frontend loader and skid‑steer loader.
• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
• Follow directions and maintain a general understanding of OSHA & MSHA regulations.

Requirements

• Professional and courteous attitude toward co‑workers, supervisors, and the public.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations, including Kent, Copley, Twinsburg, Alliance, Cleveland, and Medina.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and various shifts as needed.
• Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
• Strict adherence to company policies as detailed in the Company Book of Policies.
• Team‑oriented mindset; assist co‑workers or supervisors with additional duties as required.
• Accountability for adhering to the workplace schedule.
• Ability to complete a pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and background check.

Schedule

Must be available for day, afternoon, or midnight shifts, with weekends as needed.

Pay

$23 per hour plus a $25‑per‑day travel reimbursement.
