Railroad Construction Laborers

About the role

Trackmasters, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company specializing in railroad track construction and maintenance. Our work includes removing, replacing, rebuilding, and installing industrial railroad tracks throughout the Midwest. This is a full-time, outdoor position requiring work in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 70 pounds occasionally, and up to 100 pounds rarely
• Stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and climbing throughout the day
• Passing a fitness test
• Wearing required PPE at all times: hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, and safety glasses

Responsibilities

• Assist in the construction and maintenance of new and existing industrial railroad tracks
• Complete annual safety training and adhere to all track workers' rules and guidelines

Requirements

• Pass an initial drug/alcohol test and submit to random testing thereafter
• Pass background checks upon hire and periodically during employment
• Daily temperature checks and masks required for tasks involving close proximity to others

Qualifications

• No experience or schooling required
• Experience in labor/construction and a high school education/GED are a plus

Pay

$16–$20.00 per hour plus occasional overtime.
