Railroad Backhoe Operator - Springdale, Arkansas

About the role

Pointer Smith Contracting Corp. is seeking an experienced Railroad Backhoe Operator to join our team at the Springdale, Arkansas yard. This is a hands-on role for someone who can safely and efficiently operate a railroad backhoe while also pitching in with ground crew work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Railroad backhoe safely and efficiently to remove and install railroad ties, meeting a minimum production standard of 40 ties per 8-hour day.
• Perform morning equipment inspections before beginning work each day.
• Make minor equipment repairs as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
• Assist team members on the ground when the backhoe is not in use.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a Railroad backhoe is required.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Springdale, Arkansas yard office each day.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends.
• CDL is not required but is a plus.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday minimum, with possible weekend work as needed.
