Railcar Inspector/Prep

About the role

The Railcar Inspector/Prep role is responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of railcars in preparation for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for damage, leaks, and other issues before loading.
• Prepare railcars for shipment by performing necessary maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Communicate with shippers and carriers regarding railcar status and readiness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in railcar inspection or related field preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Knowledge of railcar safety standards.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
