Railcar Inspection Technician

About the role

Road & Rail Services is hiring a Railcar Inspection Technician for their West Point, Georgia, location. This is an active, outdoor role requiring attention to detail, consistent attendance, and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, and prepare railcars for vehicle transportation
• Use backpack blowers, scraping tools, and other equipment to remove debris and materials
• Inspect railcars for damage and report conditions that may require repair
• Identify railcar repairs that may be completed by Road & Rail Services
• Report damage, safety concerns, and equipment problems to management
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of avoidable hazards
• Follow all company, customer, and railroad safety policies
• Complete additional cleaning, inspection, and housekeeping duties as assigned

Requirements

• A valid state-issued driver's license

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Previous railroad experience is not required
• Training will be provided for safety-minded, willing-to-learn candidates
• Experience in a similar role is not necessary
