About the role

Revolution Rail Co. is seeking dynamic and energetic Rail Bike Guides who enjoy interacting with people and working outdoors. You will work closely with our management team to provide guided rail bike tours, support the customer experience, and gather occasional content for social media. Ideal candidates will have experience in hospitality and outdoor excursions, though the ability to learn new skills, a friendly and outgoing disposition, and a strong work ethic are more important than previous experience. Guides who display initiative and ability to contribute will have opportunities to develop and grow with a rapidly expanding national organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily station operations: check-in customers arriving for rail bike tours, answer phones and respond to emails, book reservations over the phone and in-person, etc.
• Chat with walk-in customers: answer questions, provide an overview of the rail bike tours, etc.
• Assist with the station gift shop: process transactions via cash/card, restock merchandise, maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with daily and weekly tasks to maintain a clean and attractive station environment.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with other rail bike guides regarding customer flow.
• Create a fun and memorable experience for customers.
• Lead groups on rail bike tours.
• Develop an understanding of the RevRail customer experience, our excursions, and environmental awareness.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
• Deliver safety briefings and history talks (training provided).
• Make minor repairs and adjustments to rail bikes (training provided).
• Provide first aid and emergency response as needed (training provided).
• Fulfill other duties set out by management.

Requirements

• Physical fitness: ability to team-lift two-seat and four-seat rail bikes (180-220 lbs) with assistance and pedal a rail bike for 2-hour time blocks 3-4 times a shift.
• Love of nature and being outdoors.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• Professional, friendly customer service in all interactions.
• Great attitude and strong, consistent work ethic; team player.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to speak in front of medium/large groups.
• Ability to work well in a busy and dynamic work environment.
• Valid Driver’s License (preferred).
