Rail Yard Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Rail Terminal Services is hiring an immediate Rail Terminal Diesel Truck Mechanic to join their team in Salt Lake City, UT. The position offers a strong, recession-proof industry with potential for growth.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hostler fleet, forklifts, and company vehicles.
• Maintain Hostler Fleet.
• Welding, fabricating.
• Working on Electrical components.
• Routine maintenance.
• Affix to other areas as needed by managers.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the mechanical field.
• Preventative maintenance minded.
• Valid driver's license.
• Own tools (yearly tool allowance provided).
• Experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel systems and components.
• Must be at least 18 with verifiable mechanical experience.
• Pass a background check.
• Pass a physical strength test.
• Drug screening.
• Required to join local union.

Schedule

Shift Monday through Friday. Day Shift. On call as needed (after hour and/or rest day call-outs possible).

Pay

Starting Pay: $27.50/hr. Potential to make $57,200 - $70,000+ per year in hourly pay with overtime factored in.
