Job Responsibilities
- Attend & actively participate in weekly RAICES leadership meetings.
- Participate in youth group activities, community events, outreach efforts, and leadership development opportunities.
- Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled meetings, trainings, and program activities.
- Assist with planning and facilitating youth-led activities, workshops, and discussions.
- Represent the RAICES program at community events and awareness activities.
- Help recruit and encourage other high school students to participate in RAICES programming.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Complete required surveys, evaluations, and feedback forms to help improve the program.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and commitment to the goals of the RAICES program.
- Perform other youth leadership activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a high school student between the age of 16-18 years old.
- Must commit to fulfilling 15 hours monthly.
- Motivated to learn & advocate for young people, social injustice, and community development.
- Take initiative in program projects and/or opportunities.
- Able to work/participate in weekend events when required.
Work Environment, Physical, And Sensory Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent exposure to moderate temperature generally encountered in a controlled temperature environment and outside setting.
- Frequent exposure to noise level in this work which is usually quiet to moderate.
- Tools & Equipment Used: iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, projectors, copy/scanner machine, fax machine. Various computer software. Use first aid equipment, fire extinguisher. Usage varies by position.
