Radiology to CT Training Program

Hourly wage estimate: $30.64 - $42.90. Factors such as skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in this role may determine your actual salary. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.

About the Role

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will provide information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. You will prepare patients for radiological procedures through proper positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting exposure factors. You will also operate mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment within the department, the OR environment, and throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning and adjusting immobilization devices.
• Move equipment into specified positions and adjust controls to set exposure factors.
• Collect relevant patient information for completion of procedures.
• Perform all general diagnostic radiographic procedures.
• Observe and monitor patients' conditions.
• Practice radiation safety as described in Federal standards, utilizing the ALARA policy.
• Operate electronic information systems, including PACS, PacsCube, and eMar.
• Compile appropriate records to expedite results.
• Administer contrast media as required.
• Participate in continuing education activities to expand and enhance knowledge of diagnostic radiology.
• Meet continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
• Participate in collecting QA/PI data as requested.
• Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
• Comply with all applicable National Quality Forum Safety indicators and Leapfrog Safe Practices Standards.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Military training in Radiology.
• ARRT (R) Registered or registry eligible.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital environment.
• Successful completion of formal computer courses.
