About the Role

As a Radiologic Technologist at TriCities Hospital, you will provide diagnostic information by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. You will prepare patients for radiological procedures, position them correctly, adjust immobilization devices, and set exposure factors. You will also operate electronic information systems such as PACS, PacsCube, and eMar, and compile records to expedite results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiological procedures through proper positioning and image technique.
• Adjust immobilization devices and move equipment into specified positions.
• Set equipment controls to establish exposure factors.
• Collect relevant patient information for procedure completion.
• Perform general diagnostic radiographic procedures.
• Monitor and observe patients’ conditions.
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with Federal standards and ALARA policy.
• Operate and understand electronic information systems, including PACS and eMar.
• Operate mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment within the department, OR, and throughout the hospital.
• Administer contrast media as required.
• Participate in continuing education activities to meet ARRT requirements and expand knowledge.
• Collect QA/PI data as requested.
• Provide professional and courteous patient care.
• Comply with National Quality Forum Safety indicators and Leapfrog Safe Practices Standards.
• Perform various other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or military training in Radiology.
• ARRT (R) Registered or registry eligible.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital environment.
• Successful completion of formal computer courses.
