About the role
This position operates Radiology Services for the Inpatient and Outpatient Departments at Renown. Responsibilities include performing complex exams, coordinating specialized equipment, calculating technical factors, ensuring radiation safety, maintaining equipment, conducting quality assurance, processing films, and managing inventory. Duties also include providing radiology services to patients aged from adolescents to geriatrics, operating imaging equipment, verifying and executing physician's orders, ensuring patient safety, and assisting other modalities within Renown Health System.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures based on radiographic principles
- Operate imaging equipment and related machinery
- Verify and execute physician’s orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams
- Ensure proper preparation for exams and patient safety during procedures
- Determine the best method for optimal examinations and ensure patient safety
- Regulate patient flow and consult with Radiologists for contrast quality improvements
- Utilize radiographic principles according to guidelines from Merrill’s Anatomy and Positioning reference manual and Renown Regional Medical Center Diagnostic Radiographic Department Policy and Procedure Manual
- May assist other modalities within the department
Requirements
- State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification within one year of employment
- AHA BLS certification within sixty days of employment
Qualifications
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an AMA approved hospital-based program preferred
