Radiology Technologist/UKHC

About the role

The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic imaging for patients to assist the patient's physician in expediting needed care.

Responsibilities

• Performing or assisting in procedures per department protocols
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Utilizing proper procedures for identifying images, patients, and marking images correctly for interpretation
• Ordering exams that match the procedures being performed
• Addressing patient needs with age-specific criteria, from neonates to geriatrics
• Assisting in a QA review to maintain professional standards for themselves and student technologists

Requirements

• No experience required
• KY Radiation Operator’s License at time of hire
• Basic Life Support certification via AHA within 90 days of hire
• Eligible for American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) at time of hire

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds
• Standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Working in confined spaces
• Sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time
• Performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing)
• Risk of injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials
• Exposure to radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people

Shift

• Tuesday through Friday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm

Pay

• Starting pay was recently adjusted to $26.47/hour
• All pay rates will be based on the candidate’s experience
• Sign-on bonus available: $15,000 for new graduates (less than one year of experience) and $30,000 for candidates with one or more years of experience, contingent upon a 24-month employment commitment
