About the role

Heart Hospital of Austin, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to physicians in the Surgical and Imaging departments for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist patients in collaboration with other radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient conditions to perform radiological and interventional exams.
  • Inform and explain procedures to patients and ensure their cooperation.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Consult with other staff to meet patient and family needs.
  • Assure availability and safe use of necessary clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Apply knowledge of patient growth and development across different age groups.
  • Perform Point of Care procedures according to established policies and procedures.
  • Document required information and comply with Point of Care quality control standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with equipment in the Interventional Suite, including Fluoro, Pan Table, Med Rad injector, monitors, and control panels.
  • Understand and use supplies for specified procedures.
  • Perform role of circulator during procedures, including pulling supplies and operating the injector.
  • Communicate with Radiologists and other physicians to coordinate interventional schedules and patient care.
  • Provide statistical reports within established timeframes.
  • Use resources efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Participate in staff and student development.
  • Maintain and develop professional competencies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree from an accredited educational program in radiology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
  • Experience: Entry-level graduate Radiology Technologists will be considered based on shift and technical responsibilities. Preferred: One to two years of experience in an acute care setting as a Radiology Technologist or Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board (TMB), Current radiology registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)/Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R), Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

The pay for this role is commensurate with experience.
