About the role
Radiology Technologist - MRI position at the University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patient and independently performs MRI exams and procedures
- Informs patients of exam procedure, transfers and positions patient safely and properly for examination, and observes and monitors patient’s condition and reactions to exam
- Produces technically acceptable MRI exams, selects proper technical factors, and reviews and evaluates MRI images to determine that they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
- Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and processes per department policies and investigates and informs supervisor of any quality issues or problems
- Completes required paperwork and records, accurately inputs exam orders, patient data, patient charges, and prepares reports
- Continually evaluates patient flow and work assignments, makes necessary adjustments, and prioritizes work effectively
- Answers phones, may assist in other areas such as: order entry, image library, scheduling, and patient transport
- Maintains the patient environment by setting up exam rooms and ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are ready, cleans and tidies exam rooms, wait rooms, and checks restroom cleanliness
- Affords assistance with training and mentoring new personnel and students, prepares and presents in-service education programs if assigned, and participates in departmental goals and performance improvement projects
Requirements
- Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist
- Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA-approved school, AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Qualifications
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Pay
Pay Range: Minimum $51.50 hourly, Maximum $80.56 hourly.
Schedule
Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts.
