Responsibilities
- Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Execute limited radiographic procedures as per the scope of the license.
- Prepare and position patients for radiographic examinations ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate radiographic equipment to produce images of the human body for diagnostic purposes.
- Image Evaluation And Quality Assurance: Review images for clarity, density, and adequacy before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Adhere to established protocols to ensure high-quality imaging results.
- Patient Care And Safety: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding procedures and ensure their understanding.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by following infection control protocols.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Documentation And Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any observations in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Ensure that all imaging records are properly labeled and stored.
- Collaboration And Communication: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a radiology department is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in the use of radiographic equipment and software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Required Licensure/Education
- Current and valid Radiology Technologist Limited License in the state of Illinois.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a limited scope of practice.
- Successfully passed the limited license exam.
- IEMA required in Radiation Technology Limited Accreditation.
