Responsibilities

  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Execute limited radiographic procedures as per the scope of the license.
    • Prepare and position patients for radiographic examinations ensuring their comfort and safety.
    • Operate radiographic equipment to produce images of the human body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Image Evaluation And Quality Assurance: Review images for clarity, density, and adequacy before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.
    • Adhere to established protocols to ensure high-quality imaging results.
  • Patient Care And Safety: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding procedures and ensure their understanding.
    • Maintain a safe and clean environment by following infection control protocols.
    • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Documentation And Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any observations in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
    • Ensure that all imaging records are properly labeled and stored.
  • Collaboration And Communication: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in a radiology department is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in the use of radiographic equipment and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Required Licensure/Education

  • Current and valid Radiology Technologist Limited License in the state of Illinois.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a limited scope of practice.
  • Successfully passed the limited license exam.
  • IEMA required in Radiation Technology Limited Accreditation.
