Radiology Technologist I (Per-diem)

About the role

Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. Assists physicians, interprets orders, and explains procedures to RNs, patients, and families. Assists non-technical staff in processing paperwork, films, and expediting patient transportation.

Responsibilities

• Processes diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy.
• Aids physicians in interpreting orders and explaining procedures to RNs, patients, and families.
• Assists non-technical staff in processing paperwork, films, and expediting patient transportation.
• Aware of department operations to assist in paperwork, films, and patient transportation.
• Utilizes a filmless based environment.

Requirements

• Speak and read English at a level sufficient to perform essential functions of the position.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer skills.
• Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure.
• Preferred Education: Associate's Degree.
• Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months related.
• Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years related.
• Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R).
• Preferred Certification: Not Applicable.
• Required License: Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F).
• Preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R).

Skills

• Knowledge of standard office equipment (calculator, fax, photocopier).
• Personal computer and computer software skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
• Proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations.
