Radiology Technologist

About the role
We’re seeking an adaptable, confident, empathetic Radiology Technologist who is able to provide quality diagnostic imaging for patients and providers at Sanford Health. The Radiologic Technologist works in clinic, hospital, ED, and OR settings across a broad range of fields including fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedics, general, and emergency radiology. Precision is essential to produce quality imaging for provider diagnoses. Opportunities for advancement into other modalities such as CT, MRI, and Mammography are available.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images
- Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures according to provider requests
- Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process
- Understands and navigates the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Performs basic diagnostic radiology tasks and follows general radiology protocols
- Performs mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures
Requirements
- Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT)
- If working in South Dakota, ARRT certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- In Iowa, a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health
- At some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary
- Driver’s license may be required, dependent upon department

Pay
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $20,000.
