Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
  • Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy
  • Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
  • Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits
  • Review patient's chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
  • Follow department, NRG, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
  • Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
  • Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor
  • Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients
  • Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
  • Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette
  • Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care

Qualifications

  • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
  • Preferred Education: N/A
  • Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified.
