Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
- Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy
- Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
- Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits
- Review patient's chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
- Follow department, NRG, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
- Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
- Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor
- Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients

- Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
- Preferred Education: N/A
- Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified.
