Job Description
Up to a $7,500 Sign on Bonus Available
Full Time Night - 11:00 pm to 7:30 am - Every other weekend
Responsibilities
- Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
- Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
- Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
- Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
- Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.
- Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
- Selects technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
- Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
- Affords assistance to patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma
- Previous Radiologic Technologist experience
- One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
- Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately
- Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
- Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval
- Patient care skills to care for Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations
- Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards
- Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Able to learn and use radiology software packages such as EPIC, PACS, etc.
- Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging
- Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education
- Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions
- Ability to determine appropriate technical factors
- Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
- Adult/and child/infant CPR
- Able to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail
- Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians
- This position requires knowledge of the use of computerized and radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures in a manner consistent with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality
- The ability to communicate and receive instructions, verbally and written and carry them out as directed
- Must be able to operate radiographic equipment and work with electrical and radiant energy
- Comprehensive knowledge of general radiographic procedures
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Must have the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care that addressed the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs to the patient population served within the department
