The Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) supports all students at NC State through academic affairs, student affairs, and University College. Responsibilities

• Act as the patient care and diagnostic technician for the Radiology Department, providing internal customer service, technical assistance, data collection, and patient care.
• Interact with internal staff, patients, and referring providers through email, phone, and in-person communications.
• Maintain and clean radiology equipment, ensuring it remains in working order and adhering to quality control standards.
• Perform technical procedures, including patient positioning for radiographs and digital image capturing.
• Provide excellent patient care by applying knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
• Serve as a liaison between clinicians and radiologists, providing accurate patient information.
• Enter data into the electronic health record system.
• Maintain a clean working environment to meet infectious disease standards and prevent infection spread.
• Handle medical, biological, and infectious waste appropriately.
• Follow radiation safety, OSHA, and Environmental Health and Safety standards.
• Cross-train in phlebotomy (training provided) to assist the laboratory during high-demand periods.
• Participate in fire and emergency preparedness drills.
• Report to work during adverse weather, public health emergencies, and other required scenarios.
• Attend scheduled meetings, drills, and training sessions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• ARRT certification.
• CPR certification.
• Valid NC Driver’s License.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records software.
• Proficiency in using radiology equipment and performing procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge of basic pathophysiological processes and the application of radiologic science.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment to ensure high-quality care.
• Ability to perform specialized orthopedic procedures, such as weight-bearing lower extremities.
• Ability to perform or learn phlebotomy for high-volume days.

Pay

$33,540 - $85,705 per year.
