About the role
Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients in an ambulatory setting, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician.
Rad Assistant applicants seeking student technologist roles must be currently enrolled and have completed 2 semesters of formal education that is accredited by the ARRT. Non-student tech roles must have 2 years of patient care management experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs chest, abdominal, extremity, and spine radiological imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician.
- Operates equipment, develops films, and prepares patient room and equipment under direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist.
- Provides clinical support including clinical documentation and clinical duties such as IV lines and lab work.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- IV certification preferred or certified within 90 days.
- No specific certification or licensure requirements.
- No prior experience required.
