About the role

The Henry Ford Medical Group in Detroit, Michigan seeks a Diagnostic Medical Physicist for the Division of Imaging Physics in the Department of Radiology. Demonstrated experience with and interest in CT is desirable, but specific job responsibilities within the Division will depend on the applicant's previous experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach radiology residents, physics residents, technologists, and allied health personnel regarding all aspects of imaging physics and radiation safety.
  • Provide support in all aspects of diagnostic imaging physics.
  • Participate actively in the imaging physics community through participation in radiology and physics societies (e.g. AAPM, RSNA, SNMMI, ACR, SIIM, SPIE, etc.).
  • Work closely with radiologists and other clinicians in all imaging modalities.
  • Optimize imaging system performance.
  • Develop and maintain quality control and clinical imaging protocols.
  • Educate clinical staff in imaging physics and radiation safety.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. or M.S. degree in a physical science.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the ABR in Diagnostic Medical Physics.

Qualifications

  • Active involvement in the imaging physics community through participation in radiology and physics societies (e.g. AAPM, RSNA, SNMMI, ACR, SIIM, SPIE, etc.) is encouraged and desired.

Skills

  • Good communication and teaching skills.
