About the role

As our Radiology Patient Care Representative, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking care, helping create a positive experience from the moment they call or walk through our doors in Tallahassee, FL. You'll play a critical role in shaping the overall healthcare experience by welcoming patients, managing appointment schedules, coordinating patient healthcare needs, and providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and verify coverage and required documentation
  • Assist with check-in and check-out processes
  • Collect patient cost shares and ensure all encounter records are accurately maintained
  • Manage multiple appointment schedules and coordinate patient healthcare needs
  • Support clinical workflow and answer incoming calls, routing inquiries appropriately
  • Provide appointment reminders and document patient interactions within the RIS
  • Enroll patients in services such as the Patient Portal
  • Assist with medical records management, message handling, and image distribution
  • Create CD copies of medical images and send digital images to outside facilities when needed
  • Support patient flow throughout the department and maintain a safe and organized environment
  • Observe waiting areas for any concerns and contribute to organizational quality initiatives (PCMH, NCQA HEDIS, CMS Star programs, corporate strategic goals, and The Triple Aim)
  • Deliver exceptional service and help patients feel supported every step of the way

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence
  • Effective communication skills, both one-on-one and in small group settings
  • Ability to speak English clearly and fluently
  • Proficiency in learning computer software programs for scheduling and accessing information
  • Experience using office equipment, including copiers and fax machines
  • Ability to multitask while interacting with patients in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, rates, and ratios)
  • Ability to interpret bar graphs and follow written/verbal instructions
  • Ability to solve routine problems and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends on short notice or as directed
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training is preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening test
