Responsibilities
- Serves as the principal advisor and subject matter expert for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Health Level Seven (HL7), Valid Data Length (VDL) for primary and secondary diagnostic codes for business rules and processes, workflow standardization, governance, stakeholder engagement, and operational support.
- Provides strategic guidance to leadership, program offices, and technical teams to ensure consistent implementation, sustainment, and modernization of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services across the enterprise.
- Supports enterprise-wide Radiology and Nuclear Medicine standardization initiatives.
- Affords expert consultation on Radiology and Nuclear Medicine operational workflows, policies, procedures, SNOW tickets, and best practices.
- Affords expert consultation on Radiology and Nuclear Medicine operational workflows, policies, procedures, SNOW tickets, and best practices.
- Assists in evaluating operational impacts of proposed changes, enhancements, and regulatory requirements.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization.
- Provides operational analysis and business impact assessments for incidents affecting Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services.
- Affords coordination with stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution of operational concerns.
- Provides Issue analysis and recommended steps and preventative measures on problematic SNOW tickets.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required, plus 10 years of experience. 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Extensive experience supporting Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine operations within a healthcare environment.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting Rad and nuclear medicine SNOW tickets and domain knowledge of Radiology packages.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, imaging operations, and healthcare business processes.
- Ability to analyze complex operational issues and provide strategic recommendations.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, governance documents, and operational guidance.
- Veterans’ Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Proficient with MS SharePoint and MS Teams
