Assignment Duration: 13-week contract position

About the role

Help patients see the full picture of their heart health while enjoying an exceptional quality of life in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. We are seeking an Echocardiology Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team, committed to excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care. This role offers the opportunity to utilize advanced cardiac imaging technology, work closely with cardiologists and care teams, and make a direct impact on patient care in a community-focused critical access hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies according to departmental protocols and professional standards.
  • Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by cardiologists while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.
  • Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient patient care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, four 8-hour day shifts per week.
