Radiology - Echo / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: St. Johnsbury, Vermont

Assignment Duration: 13-week contract position

We are seeking an Echocardiology Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team, committed to excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care. This role offers the opportunity to utilize advanced cardiac imaging technology, work closely with cardiologists and care teams, and make a direct impact on patient care in a community-focused critical access hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies according to departmental protocols and professional standards.
• Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by cardiologists while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.
• Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient patient care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience required.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, four 8-hour day shifts per week.
