What You'll Do
- Takes intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs, including peri-apical, bitewings, panoramic, cephalometric radiography, CT scans, and cone-beam computed tomography.
- Takes full surveys and panoramic x-rays for new patients in the undergraduate clinic and CT scans, cephalometric x-rays, and any digital x-rays requested from Post Graduate clinics.
- Reviews patient records to ensure medical history is completed and cleared, financial consent is signed, and financial obligations are met before taking prescribed x-rays.
- Works closely with students teaching digital radiology and demonstrates basic use of dental software, Axium and MiPacs.
- Independently reviews clarity and preciseness of radiographic images taken by pre-doctoral clinic students and approves them.
- Completes radiograph treatment plans for new patients at the end of each session.
- Imports radiographs on the computer for students' licensing boards and monitors their progress to ensure compliance with NERB and WREB standards.
- Enhances digital radiographs for clarity and ensures they meet licensing board standards.
- Delivers and maintains x-ray monitoring badges to faculty and staff every 3 months.
- Facilitates and records attendance for ICE and OMFR sessions running September through April and summer sessions.
- Advises faculty and pre-doctoral clinic students on infection control practices and oversees the setup of Rinn kits on the manikin.
- Creates new patient records for patients requesting CT scans to be copied onto a CD.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired by: Vocational/Technical diploma or Associate's Degree.
- 3-5 years’ job-related experience.
- MA Dental Assistant License.
- Radiology Certification.
Pay
Minimum $23.00, Midpoint $27.35, Maximum $31.70. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
