Radiology Authorization Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage all radiology authorization work queues independently
• Prioritize urgent imaging procedures to mitigate financial risk
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using various systems
• Prepare and complete payer-specific authorization requests, applying relevant guidelines
• Review patient documentation and ensure compliance with payer policies
• Cook with health plans to resolve denied authorization requests
• Provide excellent customer service and follow up with patients regarding coverage issues

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting required
• Experience in prior authorization, financial counseling, billing, or healthcare administration needed
• Familiarity with health insurance and medical policy review is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology essential

Pay

• $135,200 – $161,500 annually
