Radiological Technologist - Part time

Schedule

Weekdays – approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, two days per week. Saturday morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) rotation required during weekend on-call rotation (about once a month). Weekday on-call rotation also required with a maximum 30-minute response time. Evening shifts may be available; inquire for details.

About the role

Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy. Must be registered with ARRT and licensed by the State of Nebraska. Completion of an accredited educational program related to CT or documented CT proficiency training is required; on-the-job CT training is available. Mammography certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Practice radiation safety and ALARA principles.
• Adjust imaging equipment settings, determine proper voltage and exposure, and position patients correctly.
• Perform and understand Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures.
• Review exams and report results to ordering providers.
• Perform X-ray examinations utilizing ionizing radiation.
• Perform CT scans using computerized tomography and contrast media to produce cross-sectional anatomy images and numerical tissue density values.
• Understand risk factors for breast cancer, educate patients on self-breast exams, and promote awareness through various educational methods (Mammography certification a plus).
• Understand ACR/MQSA requirements for accreditation, compliance, and evaluation, including screening guidelines, patient positioning, safety, ALARA, image quality, documentation, and QC/QA. Maintain current CEUs.
• Perform bone density scans (DEXA) to measure bone mineral density at specific anatomical sites and calculate total body bone mineral content.
• Operate C-arm during orthopedic cases, pain management procedures, or general surgical procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients.
• Capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing, and speaking) in English.
• Proficient in operating a personal computer with Microsoft Office and the Internet.
• Capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations.
• Must participate in on-call rotation, including at minimum one weekday and weekend rotation every 4-5 weekends.
• Ability to report on-site within 30 minutes for call-backs, preferably sooner.
