About the role

Under limited supervision, you will operate and maintain x-ray equipment, taking x-rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologists in diagnosing diseases and injuries. You may also lead or mentor lower-level team members.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain x-ray equipment while practicing radiation protection techniques at all times.
  • Prepare patients for x-rays by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously; transfer, position, and instruct patients regarding the procedure.
  • Select appropriate imaging parameters and operate console and peripheral hardware (e.g., stands, positioning devices, and other radiology equipment).
  • Perform quality assurance on radiographs to ensure optimal imaging; place service calls on equipment as needed.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and stock supplies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and imaging to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose an appropriate course of action.
  • Comfortable working with computers and large pieces of technological equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Required certifications must remain current and valid.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Radiology Tech program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) certification required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Five (5) years of experience is required.
