About the role
Assists physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.
Responsibilities
- Carries out radiology requisitions and views.
- Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
- Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
- Aids patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
- Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Stocks necessary supplies.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Aids with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
- Safeguards equipment is in working order.
- Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Imports and uploads outside CDs for clinic.
Requirements
- Six months experience as a radiologic technologist required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.
- Current ARRT certification & current TN licensure (or Limited Scope License).
- BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of radiographic technique.
- Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
- Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Working knowledge of DR X-Ray equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Skills
- Knowledge of PACS.
