About the role
Assists physicians in performing all types of outpatient interventional radiology procedures, including patient preparation, intra and post-surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist Interventional Radiologists in several invasive procedures.
- Operate or oversee operation of fluoroscopy and sonographic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Provide direct assistance with endovascular sterile procedures.
- Position and immobilize patient on examining table for treatment or examination.
- Perform sterile preparation of procedural site and sterile preparation of equipment.
- Key commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images.
- Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready and adjust settings or positions of medical equipment.
- Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density/contrast to improve picture quality.
- Coordinate work with clerical personnel or other technologists.
Requirements
- Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current license with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA).
- Ability to commute to Wichita, KS 67226.
