About the role

Radiologic Technologist II perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. They apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
  • Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
  • Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
  • Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
  • Completion of exam in hospital information system.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
  • May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.

Requirements

  • Education Qualifications: Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program Required
  • Experience Qualifications: Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience Preferred
  • Licenses and Certifications: Radiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required, Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required, Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
