Radiologic Technologist II

About the role

Competently performs routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or may help orient other staff to the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized radiologic procedures to produce diagnostic images.
• Assess patients, monitor their condition, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Adhere to privacy and safety regulations, including protecting patient health information (PHI).
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established solutions.
• Use computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR (EPIC), and PACS.
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program (required prior to start date).
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and evidence of application for CRT/DRT (or CRT/DRT from the state where work is performed) provided prior to start date.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification (required upon hire).
• RHF (Radiology Fluoroscopy) certification (required within 180 days of hire if applicable at the affiliate).

Skills and Knowledge

• General knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including trauma and emergency response.
• Ability to perform routine radiographic examinations with a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and work within standardized procedures.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR (EPIC), and PACS.

Schedule

• Part-time (24 hours per week).
• Evening/Night shift (8-hour shifts).
• Variable days of the week, including weekends as needed.

Pay

Pay range is $56.74 to $79.43 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
