Radiologic Technologist II

About the role

Provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging across various hospital departments, including emergency, surgery, and bedside services, under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic radiologic examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning, immobilization, and optimal imaging based on clinical history and prior studies.
• Follows safety protocols, accurately identifies patients, and maintains confidentiality and documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Prepares sterile fields, contrast agents, and supplies; assists radiologists during procedures.
• Operates radiology, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging systems; reviews and transmits images for interpretation.
• Maintains equipment, reports malfunctions, and ensures safety standards, including ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Provides compassionate patient care, explains procedures, assists with transport, and responds to patient needs.
• Participates in resuscitation efforts and maintains supplies and cleanliness of work areas.
• Shares on-call duties, mentors new personnel, supervises students, and pursues ongoing education.
• Attends departmental meetings and adheres to safety and operational protocols.

Qualifications

• At least one year of general radiology experience as a registered technologist.
• Associate degree in radiologic technology or equivalent experience.
• Radiographer license and ARRT certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgical radiology.
