About the Role
Provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging across various hospital areas, including emergency, surgery, and bedside services, under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic radiologic exams, positions patients, and selects optimal technical factors.
- Reviews orders and patient history; consults with radiologists and nurses.
- Follows safety protocols, verifies patient identity, ensures data accuracy, maintains confidentiality, and documents procedures in RIS.
- Prepares sterile fields, contrast agents, and supplies; assists radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures.
- Operates imaging equipment, reviews and transmits images, and maintains equipment functionality.
- Provides patient care, explains procedures, ensures safety measures, and minimizes radiation exposure.
- Participates in resuscitation efforts during emergencies, maintains cleanliness, and shares on-call duties.
- Mentors new staff, supervises students, pursues continuing education, and attends departmental meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of general radiology experience as a registered technologist.
- Associates degree in radiologic technology or related experience.
- Radiographer license, ARRT certification, and BLS certification required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgical radiology.
