Radiologic Technologist - FT Atrium Health Navicent (OR/Portables)

Full-time, benefits-eligible position with 40 hours per week.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Primary work locations: operating room, portables, diagnostic department

Pay

Pay range: $28.55 – $42.85 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
• Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician
• Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary
• Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
• Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards
• Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist
• Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties

Requirements

• Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
• Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date
• BLS certification required

• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served
• Good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers
• Handles equipment and monitoring supplies
• Frequently stretches, bends, twists, squats, or kneels in operating radiographic equipment
• Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work, and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and diseased patients
• Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary
• May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment
• Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity
