Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic Radiology - Weekend Incentive Program - Overnights

About the role

The practice of radiography involves administering ionizing radiation to humans for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. Radiologic technologists perform radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images upon request from and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to collect pertinent data about the patient, procedure, equipment, and work environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze information obtained during the assessment phase and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge related to the use of protocols, procedures, and equipment.
• Performs radiographic exams safely and accurately with reliable information regarding the performance of equipment, materials, and processes.
• Adjusts protocols and procedures based on safe and effective practices.
• Evaluates exams or procedures to meet all quality assurance standards.
• Provides clear and precise documentation essential for continuity of care, accuracy of care, and quality assurance.
• Promotes a positive and collaborative practice atmosphere with other members of the health care team.
• Participates in professional organizations and scholarly activities such as research, scientific investigation, presentation, and publication to advance the profession.

Requirements

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or obtain within the first 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers).

Qualifications

Novice-level experience. Competent in routine studies. Working knowledge of technical standards, the scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety, and service standards. Working knowledge of imaging equipment, image processing software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.
