About the role
This part-time Radiologic Technologist position is located at California State Prison, Solano (SOL) in Vacaville, Solano County. The role requires 20 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Instruct and prepare patients for radiologic examinations
- Take x-rays for a variety of body structures
- Maintain radiologic equipment and quarters
- Keep records and files
- May supervise incarcerated workers and the conduct of patients in treatment
Qualifications
- Possession of a current, valid certificate as a Certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services (applicants in the process of securing certification may test but must possess the certificate before appointment eligibility)
- One of the following:
- Two years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist (successful completion of work required for a graduate nurse may substitute for one year of this experience and training)
- Successful completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology
- Must pass the Radiologic Technologist examination via CalCareers to obtain list eligibility before appointment
Pay
Monthly salary range: $3,260 – $3,798.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces base salary by 3% for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 20 (and related excluded/exempt employees) and provides 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Posted salaries do not reflect this reduction.
