Radiologic Technologist

Principal Job Functions

• Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
• Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography, fluoroscopy, portable diagnostic and portable fluoroscopy; practices radiation safety for patients, staff and self.
• Uses sterile technique as required.
• Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
• Competently operates all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems to include HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS and offsite Radiologist Services.
• Utilizes department computer systems, PACS, to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
• Properly cares for and images patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality.
• Captures exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and proper communication with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.
• Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy.
• Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies coordinator of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed.
• Keeps area properly supplied.
• Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.

Education And Experience

• Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology with current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
• Valid State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required.

Other Credentials / Certifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
