Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
  • Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, which include applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
  • Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
  • May need to push patient in a wheelchair.
  • Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit; performing preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalating critical cases to provider as needed.
  • Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
  • Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care.
  • Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
  • Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort and safety, and answer their questions.
  • Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
  • Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Perform routine maintenance, clean X-ray equipment, and manage necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.
  • Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.

Skills

  • Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
  • Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.

Pay

Earn up to $10K in bonuses! This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics and ongoing referral bonus opportunities.

Schedule

Starting at 208 hours annually PTO.
