Radiologic Tech PRN

About the role

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join their Radiology Department at BSW Round Rock Medical Center. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging for both ambulatory and hospital patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiology (X-ray) procedures according to established protocols.
• Maintain consistent imaging quality, proper positioning, and accurate exposure techniques.
• Communicate with patients using AIDET principles to build rapport and ensure comfort.
• Prepare exam rooms and position patients correctly for safe and effective imaging.
• Adhere to all radiation safety, infection control, and sterile technique policies.
• Monitor and maintain imaging equipment; report issues promptly and ensure full operational readiness.
• Manage documentation including requisitions, patient history, and exam records in PACS and EMR systems.
• Ensure patient safety through proper screening, pregnancy verification, and shielding practices.
• Provide timely, accurate, and patient-centered service in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in call rotation as needed.

Requirements

• External Education: Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Experience: Less than 1 year required; hospital experience preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: ARRIT (R) – Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography, Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in high-volume environments.
